Pastor

David has been in full-time ministry since 1998. He graduated from Troy University with a Bachelor of Science. He continued his education at Samford University where he earned his Master of Divinity and his Doctor of Theology. David has served churches in Tennessee, North Carolina, and Alabama. He is currently the Lead Pastor at Smiths Station Baptist Church where he has served for the since May of 2012 years. David is married to his wife Deedee and they have two children: Addison and Will.

Music Minister

Brian has a passion to lead the church in “God honoring, Christ exalting, Spirit empowered” worship. He is married to Wendy and they have three children, Audrey (who is married to Jarrett), Abby, and Sam. He is a graduate of Belmont University and Southern Seminary. He is a cellist and has worked in the area of church music for thirty three years in Alabama, Tennessee and Virginia. He loves all kinds of music, hiking, reading, and ping pong.

Student Pastor

Matt has been in vocational ministry since 2016, and he’s been in full time ministry since 2020. He graduated from Auburn University of Montgomery in May of 2016. Matt received his Master of Arts on Christian Education, from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary in May of 2022. Matt has been married to his wife, Ashley, since 2017, and they have two boys together - Declan and Kaiden. Matt has been serving as the Student Pastor here since July of 2022.

Carolyn joined Smiths Station Baptist Church in 1997, and began working as the part-time secretary in October 2016, and later as full-time administrator in March 2017. Her spouse is Billy, they have one daughter, Diana Hudson, and twin grandsons—Cody and Dalton who are 27. She loves her job and this church and will continue to support it for years to come.

Secretary

Carol is a retired teacher. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education and a Master’s Degree in early childhood education from Columbus State University. She has a master’s degree from Auburn University in Educational Leadership and Technology. She also has a Reading Specialist degree from Georgia State University. Carol taught school for 7 years in Columbus, Georgia and 31 years in the Lee County School System. She taught third grade for 20 years and was a Media Specialist for 18 years. She retired from teaching in 2010, she has been a part-time secretary at Smiths Station Baptist Church for since 2018. Carol was married to JD Drury for 57 years, they have 3 children and 5 grandchildren. She enjoys spending time with my family, reading, riding my bike, walking my dog Boomer, and working with children at church.
